Go Fas Racing announced on Thursday the sole driver who will pilot the No. 32 GFR Ford Fusion for the 2017 season.

Matt DiBenedetto, who recently parted ways with BK Racing, will join Mooresville, NC based Go Fas Racing for the 2017 Premier Series campaign. Matt joins GFR after achieving his best finish of his career in 2016 – 6th at Bristol in the spring.

“I am very excited to join Go Fas Racing for the 2017 season,” said DiBenedetto. “We have a great group of people that I am very excited to work with this season! I am thankful for the opportunity and I look forward to representing the team and sponsors to the best of my ability!” 2016-las-vegas-cup-jeffrey-earnhardt-car-matthew-t-thacker-nkp-660x439

Go Fas Racing chose to not resign 2000 Premier Series champion Bobby Labonte, and Jeffery Earnhardt in an effort to have one sole driver for the No. 32 entry. In past seasons, GFR has opted for having multiple drivers in the car during one season, as compared to having one for all 36 races.

Team owner Archie St.Hilarie welcomed DiBenedetto with open arms, and excitement,

“Mason and I couldn’t be happier to have Matt joining us here here at GFR,” St.Hilarie said in a team release. “This will be our first season in the Premier Series with one driver running the complete season for us. We believe Matt’s driving ability and a fleet of newer race equipment purchased this off season will elevate our program to new levels in 2017.”

Past sponsors for GFR’s No. 32 entry including Can-Am/Kappa, Keen Parts, and Really Cheap Floors, will return to the car. GFR will also announce new additions to the sponsorship lineup for the team at a later date.
